The Youth Opportunity & Youth Capital Fund is set to continue!
The Youth Opportunity and Capital Fund scheme will be continuing until 2011.
The Government has given Herefordshire Council £450,000 over the next 3 years, to involve young people in deciding what activities and projects are needed across the county and in their local area.
Young people control the money and the decisions- they decide how the scheme works and how the funds get spent. Members from the Youth Council, other youth groups and beneficiaries of the funds currently make up the panel.
The Youth Funding Panel will soon be evaluating the scheme and making improvements to the process before the next round of funding starts.
New panel members are now sought to take up positions and take forward the next stages of the scheme.
There are limited places but if you know of any young people (13-19 yrs old), who would be interested in getting involved and who are able to make a commitment to regular meetings, then please hand out the information attached and contact me as soon as you can.
This is a great opportunity for young people to develop their skills, get their voices heard and make a difference in the county, whilst taking up roles as grant givers and project evaluators!
For further information please see the 3 information sheets & flyers.
Please feel free to contact Amy Lunt with any questions.
