Safer Herefordshire

Safer Herefordshire is the new name for the 'Community Safety and Drugs Partnership'.

It is a statutory, multi-agency partnership set up to tackle community safety and drug issues across the county. The Partnership aims to work together to make Herefordshire an even safer place to live, work and visit, focusing on education, prevention, enforcement and treatment.

  • The Partnership is led by a Strategic Board, with members drawn from a range of key partners.  The Strategic Board has identified several priorities which have specific implementation groups to work on actions to combat these issues identified through audits and consultations. A full list of groups can be found on the Herefordshire Council website.
  • Safer Herefordshire, in line with the rest of Herefordshire Partnership, has recently reviewed its' membership and has set aside a place for a Third Sector Representative on its Strategic Board.

Dave Marshall, Director of Family Drug Support and Associate of The Bulmer Foundation has kindly agreed to act as the VSA Rep on an interim basis.

This interim arrangement will last until the new Third Sector(Community Voluntary and Social Enterprise)  Engagement mechanism has been agreed and adopted.  It is anticipated that this will be in place by Spring 2010 and that elections for the full suite of new sector representatives.

If you would like to contact Dave Marshall about the work of Safer Herefordshire, or join the Third Sector 'Safer Herefordshire' Interest Group, please email the VSA Coordinator with your contact details and if possible some times when Dave can contact you.  Alternatively you can phone VSA Coordinator, Sue Black on 01432 343932.
