Compacts are documents which govern the relationships between statutory agencies and the community & voluntary sector. The aim of the Compact is to safeguard the independence of the sector and guide how all parties to the agreement will work better together.

The Herefordshire Local Compact was signed off by the Chief Executives Group of Herefordshire Partnership in January 2008. This Compact now covers the whole of the community & voluntary sector's relationships with statutory partners.
In Herefordshire, we have a 'Funding and Procurement, Code of Good Practice' Compact document which covers the Health & Social Care sector. This was developed by The Alliance, Herefordshire Primary Health

The Volunteering Code has been adopted by Herefordshire Partnership and was published in November 2009. Download it at the foot of the page.
The 'Working Together Code' has completed its consultation phase and work has begun on an implementation and publicity plan. The Alliance is leading on this strand of work, supported by the VSA and Herefordshire Partnership.
