National liftshare Day (NLSD) - 9th June 2008
This year, National liftshare Day is taking place on 9th June. So be sure you are part of this huge event by carsharing on the day!
We were delighted with the success of NLSD last year; the impact of the day has grown consistently year on year and we've been amazed by the dramatic increase in awareness of carsharing over the last few years. Please help us to make this year better than ever by sharing your journey and encouraging others to give it a try. As petrol prices rise, liftshare members save 50 million miles
As you are probably only too aware, petrol prices are at an all time high - but we just wanted to assure you that the news isn't all bad. As a result of the recent high prices, carsharing is now more popular than ever and across the UK liftshare network there are now an estimated 50 MILLION MILES being shared each year! If you are still looking for a match, your chances are better than ever. Please do help your friends, family and colleagues to save themselves money on fuel too, by encouraging them to sign up - Tell a Friend.
Could you be a media star?!
As carsharing grows in popularity, the media contact us increasingly often. And usually they also want to speak to a regular carsharer or two, to get their personal views. We would like to build up a list of members who'd be happy to share their experiences. These media "interviews" tend to be very brief and simple, but are a great opportunity to spread the word. If you would be willing to chat to a reporter about why you carshare (and you have no professional restrictions preventing you from being a media case study) we would be grateful if you could email your name, telephone number (daytime and eve) and where you live (town / county) to media@liftshare.com - also specifying which media you would be happy to do (newspaper, radio, tv) and whether you do anything other than carshare (e.g. our BikeBUDi, TaxiBUDi or WalkBUDi). Be assured that we will always check with you first before putting a reporter in touch with you and we would be very happy to chat it through with you in advance. Thank you!

Photo Competition extended! - you could win an iPod
In our last newsletter we asked you to send in any good photos of you and your travel companions which you would be happy for liftshare to use to encourage more people to travel sustainably. As the weather has been pretty dismal until now we've decided to extend the deadline to 30th June 2008. The member who sends us the most imaginative / aspirational photo will receive a personalised iPod. Send your photos to us at photocompetition@liftshare.com

It is very important that information we have on you and your journey requirements remains up to date. Therefore please take a moment to revisit your account and spend five minutes:
• updating your contact details;
• updating your journey details;
• running a search for a new match.
Keeping your details up to date will prevent you from being contacted by unsuitable matches and will significantly increase your chances of finding someone to share with.
