Office of the Third Sector Briefing Note: ‘Environment for a thriving third sector’
The Office for the Third Sector has published a briefing for local strategic partnerships on National Indicator 7 'Environment for a thriving third sector'
NI7 is the only indicator that recognizes the breadth and diverse role of the Third Sector. It is also the only indicator that is both an end in itself, and a means for Local Strategic Partnerships to achieve other aims.
The briefing note states that Partnerships may want to make NI7 a specific priority:
- ‘where they want to unlock the full potential of the third sector’and
- ‘as a means to address other priorities’:
The briefing note also states that from Autumn 2008 a baseline for this indicator will be established and improvements will be measured through a new bi-annual survey of third sector organisations.
