Increasing the number of Volunteers in Herefordshire

Increasing the number of Volunteers in Herefordshire
As part of the government funded Local Area Agreement with Herefordshire Council there is a target to increase volunteering in Herefordshire by 5 percentage points by March 2008. Herefordshire Partnership are taking this forward. At the Volunteering Infrastructure Group meetings HP, the two Volunteer Centres and other representatives from the VCS have been planning a major marketing campaign to encourage more Herefordshire residents to volunteer and we hope that this will benefit all VCS organisations who are looking for volunteers.

Do you need trustees?
Volunteering England and the Governance Hub have recently launched a national campaign, 'Get on Board', which aims to recruit more trustees. Individuals who are interested in becoming trustees can register on-line at www.getonboard.org.uk  and they are then referred to their local Volunteer Centre. Angela at the Herefordshire Volunteer Centre has already received the names of four people who are interested in becoming trustees in Herefordshire. If you are looking for trustees, contact her on  angela@herefordshireva.org  or ring her on 01432 343932.
