Review of Participation and Engagement

Review recommends new Engagement Structure for Herefordshire

The review of Third Sector Engagement in Herefordshire (Sheriff, 2009) recommended the creation of a new Third Sector Forum supported by a Strategic Board and Interest Groups.

Members of the Steering Group would like to thank Herefordshire Partnership and NAVCA's Big lottery funded 'Improving Local Partnerships' project for funding this study.

A consultation meeting with the sector was held on 14 September 2009 to test the options . (You can read a summary of comments from 14/9/09 meeting at the foot of this page.) The consultation was largely in favour of the model suggested but with the caveat that the new structure should be responsive to the needs of the sector.

The Review of Third Sector Engagement Steering Group concluded its work in September 2009 and transferred its remit to an Interim Third Sector Board to progress the results of the review.

The Interim Third Sector Board has its first meeting on 3 December 2009 and agreed to hold a Third Sector Forum on 10 February 2010 to seek wider endorsement and support for the new forum.

The Third Sector Board is currently seeking the views of Herefordshire's Third Sector on its draft Terms of Reference, available for you to download below.  You can send your views back by email or post using the 'Feedback Form' which has a few questions for you to consider.
