Chris is joint Chief Executive of Herefordshire Council and Primary Health Care Trust will be giving the opening address at 9.45 am. Chris kindly opened the evening session of the 'Fit for the Future?' event held in February 2008.

Paul Barasi of Compact Voice
Paul in employed by the NCVO to promote Local Compacts and has a wealth to knowledge on this topic. Paul also rund the Compact Voice Forum. Speaking in the afternoon, Paul will be explaining about the role of Compact Champions and giving an overview of how Local Compacts have been used in other areas.
Compact, Nationally, Locally, what do you think of it so far?
We want to know because a national debate about the future of the Compact, which closes on 10 November, is currently underway ; for example:
• Should the Compact have statutory powers?
• Should Government be legally obliged to meet its undertakings?
• Should the VCS be under similar legal obligations?
